Privacy Policy
Effective October 16, 2026
This policy covers PartMirror on iPhone and iPad, including the free-camera edition from iOS version 1.1.1, earlier subscription-only and advertising-enabled editions, and this website.
PartMirror Android · Privacy Policy (English)Translations are provided for convenience. If a translated version conflicts with the English version, the English version controls where permitted by law.
Data collection
The free-camera edition uses a locally bundled Nonlate promotional banner, with no advertising SDK or external ad request. PartMirror does not collect banner impressions or clicks on a server. Camera images, face geometry, saved looks, names and part settings are not transmitted to us or an advertising provider. Tapping the banner opens the Nonlate App Store listing; Apple processes that store visit under its privacy policy. This website has no advertising or analytics trackers. GitHub Pages hosts it and may process ordinary network requests under its own privacy policy.
TrueDepth data and purpose
PartMirror uses Apple's TrueDepth front camera and ARKit to process live camera frames, depth measurements, face pose, face geometry, and derived points such as the face axis, face width, hairline, and scalp guide points. It uses this information only to place, shape, stabilize, and correctly hide parts of the on-screen hair-parting guide. It is not used to identify a person, authenticate, create a profile, target advertising, or train machine-learning models.
TrueDepth storage and retention
In App Store build 39 and later, live TrueDepth data—including depth measurements, face pose, face geometry, and derived tracking points—is held only in memory during the active camera session. It is not written to files or retained after the session ends. Camera frames used for live tracking are not saved unless you deliberately press the photo or video capture control. The resulting ordinary photo or video is stored only in My Looks on your iPhone until you delete it or uninstall PartMirror; it does not contain a reusable TrueDepth face mesh or depth map.
TrueDepth sharing and disclosure
PartMirror does not transmit TrueDepth data to our servers and does not share camera frames, depth measurements, face pose, face geometry, or derived tracking points with Google AdMob or any other third party. AdMob receives no TrueDepth data. If you choose to share or export a saved photo or video, iOS and the destination you select handle only that media under their own policies.
Photos, videos, and My Looks
Photos and videos are created only when you choose to capture them. Saved looks remain in private app storage. If you share or export media, iOS and the service you choose handle it under their own policies.
Photos permission
When you choose Export, PartMirror requests permission to add the selected photo or video to Photos. It does not scan your full photo library.
Retention and deletion
We do not receive or retain TrueDepth data, camera frames, or My Looks media. You can delete saved looks inside the app. Uninstalling PartMirror removes its private local library and all other app data from the iPhone.
Local promotion and older advertising editions
From iOS version 1.1.1, PartMirror displays its own locally bundled Nonlate banner and an optional banner-removal offer. No Google AdMob or Google consent SDK is included, no external advertising is requested, and banner interactions are not sent to our servers. Verified banner-removal subscribers see neither banner. Earlier subscription-only versions also contain no advertising SDK. Older advertising-enabled versions may still use Google AdMob and Google's consent tools, which may process an IP address, device identifiers, advertising data, product interactions, performance data and diagnostics. Camera images, face geometry, saved looks and part settings are never provided for advertising. Where available in an older version, use its Settings to manage ad privacy choices.
Optional subscriptions and earlier editions
Apple processes purchases, billing, refunds and subscription management. From iOS version 1.1.1, PartMirror reads Apple-verified subscription status only to remove or restore promotional banners, not to unlock the camera. Earlier subscription-only editions use that status for app access. Existing annual subscribers retain banner-removal benefits while their entitlement is valid. PartMirror has no account system or payment-card storage.
Children
PartMirror is not directed specifically to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as PartMirror changes. The effective date above will identify the latest version.
